Abdel-Hay Musallam makes bas-relief sculptures of wood paste on
board. His subject matter is divided into three related parts: one
is devoted to the love of women, the second to Palestinian
heritage and the third to the Palestinian struggle for freedom.
Memories of village life in Palestine are presented in scenes he
has constructed, such as women embroidering, weddings, and gentle
modest flirting between young village couples. Musallam has
created a bas-relief for each of the events of the struggle. He
celebrates the unity of generations and the continuous will for
freedom and dignity.
