Palestinian artist born in Ghazze, lives and works in Ghazze.
Fayez Sirsawi is a sculptor and teacher who devotes much of his
time to the education of young artists. He has made important
statements on the aesthetics of the liberation art of Palestine
and its symbolism. Sirsawi also works in color and ink on paper.
His drawings reflect his capacity to observe subtle details in his
social surroundings. He steals glances at the Israeli soldiers and
discovers their humanity, their frustrations, and their cruelty.
Recently, he created a series using mummies as the primary
symbolic image to address Palestinian concerns about death.
