Bas-relief and sculptures of Vera Tamari are constructed from
fragile slabs of clay that tell of the fragility of life in the
West Bank. Tamari also works on paper, often making collages in
the same way that she assembles her ceramic sculptures. Pieces are
brought together for the logic of the work without the need to
make them fit into a rectangular outline. Much of Arabic wall
abstractions made of assembled and inlaid marble, wood or glass
influence her work. These techniques are similar to the marble
inlays of the Dome of The Rock in Al Quds.
